I didn't see anything in the book beyond what one finds in online articles. I recommend the Illustrated Guide to Surfing instead.

Quick read with conscise information. Very valuable basics that are explained in easy terms. Nice book to keep as reference.
Getting back into surfing. Was a good read to surfing basics. I haven't been surfing in years. This would help with basic surfing and reminder of things to do.
Drawings or pictures would have been very helpful. I had to compare the text to videos in YouTube. Well written in order to immerse the reader in surfing and soon the activity is no longer intimidating.
