This is a reunion book of all of the characters that came before. It is a standalone and no cliffhanger. At first I was a little confused with backgrounds because it had been a while since I read 1-6. However, it turned out to be really good. I remembered the stories as they would catch up with their lives about 5 years later from the initial story. All of their stories were great, I loved the series. I already have Book 8 downloaded. All the characters are best friends and teammates. The men are all big, strong, gentle, loving and just PERFECT. I love these New Zealand heroes.This book goes back into each couples past and then catches up with them today. It was really good to see them all doing well, delivering a lot of babies and still being in love with one another. Each one has a very different story. They were alike in the heroes being good guys, the heroines being strong, independent, loving women. But how they come together and what they overcome to be where they are, are all very different. I think any reader could read the book and enjoy it as a story. If you have read 1-6 it is even better.
I really enjoyed the story. It was entertaining and fun to catch up with these characters. It makes you say AWWW, to see how these men love their wives and are loved in return. They also have very "men" emotions and are eager to share them with their wives. I just love this series and you will feel good after you finish reading. I know not every book is for everyone but I have to say, I read the one star reviews and I couldn't disagree more. I sometimes wonder what a reader is looking for. But then If I stumbled on a Sci-fi or murder mystery I would be the same. However, I was told by an author that to review the book is to review the book, not what you disliked about a character or event. That being said, I would highly recommend this book if you are looking for a good love story and events that happen in real life. Great read in my book. no pun intended.

I loved this book! This is an extended epilogue for all prior 7 books - the focus is primarily on Hannah and Drew, but we get to revisit all of our favorite (and perhaps not so favorite) characters. I have to admit that Just This Once (Escape to New Zealand Book 1) was not my favorite of the series, but after revisiting Hannah and Drew, I want to go back and reread their story! And honestly? Epilogues are just about my favorite part of books - we KNOW there's an HEA (otherwise why read romance?) but we get to SEE it! This book skips us a few years down the road (for some of the couples) and we get to see how they've progressed as a couple and as a family. This book is all warm fuzzies people!
Some couples get a little more time than others - but I loved having such a lovely extended glimpse of all of them. One of the things I enjoy about the NZ books is that they're jock/celebrity romances - it's a fantasy and why it's a popular genre - but I loved seeing how these couples navigate life after their sports careers have concluded and how they've adjusted to a new reality, a new residence, and a new career. It's so much fun to see how many kids each couple has ended up with years after we first read about them and how the dynamics of their relationship have evolved and grown.
Since this is truly an extended epilogue (though the length is satisfying - I was sad - sob! - when the book ended), you'll enjoy it ever so much more after having read the prior books. While it's a well written book with a lot of heart, humor and warmth, you REALLY have to read the prior books to appreciate this one since you'll be crazy lost trying to figure out who the characters are and you won't get any of their inside jokes if you don't already know their stories. But truly, why would you NOT want to read these book? Unless you hate well written books that make you laugh, may make you cry, and cause you to sigh in contentment when characters you've come to care about get their HEA.

I was lucky to receive an advance copy of Just Once More, and I loved it. It was like catching up with old friends. It's December and the end of the rugby season. Everyone has gathered for Hugh and Josie's wedding, and for a reunion of old friends and teammates at Hannah and Drew's house.
Sweet, funny, steamy, sexy, sweet - it was everything I've come to look forward to in the Escape to New Zealand books. Catching up with everyone was great, and I especially loved that in this book, the perspective shifted somewhat and the story was told through some of the guy's eyes - particularly Drew and Finn's. Drew and Hannah's story has always been emotional for me, and seeing it through Drew's eyes just made it more so.

I didn't see it coming, but I loved that Koti was involved in the birth of yet another of Drew and Hannah's children. Also made me smile when Drew dropped back into captain mode and started issuing orders, and Koti didn't blink an eye.
