I bought this book because it includes the story "The Hurkle is a Happy Beast", which I named one of our cats after.

The book arrived quickly enough, but the pages are very stiff and brittle, probably a combination of lowgrade paper, and being stored in a too warm location. I usually carry a book to work each day, to read during my lunch. Doing so, I managed to bend one page enough for it to crack, so it must stay at home. Dhammit.

It's a great set of stories, so I do recommend this book. Highly.

I first read this book in High School, and fell in love with the collection of short stories. Authors include "Collecting Team" by Robert Silverberg; "The Gnurrs Come from the Voodvork Out" by R. Bretnor; ; "Drop Dead" by Clifford D. Simak; The hilarious "The Sheriff of Canyon Gulch" by Poul Anderson and Gordon R. Dickson; "A Martian Odyssey" by Stanley Weinbaum; "The Blue Giraffe" by L. Sprague de Camp; "Grandpa" by James H. Schmitz; "The Hurkle is a Happy Beast" by and Theodore Sturgeon.
